The Kicktail Longboard: A Legacy

While the meaning has changed throughout its time the kicktail longboard is still a title that is well renowned through the world of long boarding. The kick tail originally referred to early skateboard decks that had a side of the board bent upwards. This originally was more of a design statement than it was a functional application. It was a style that soon evolved to become one of the most influential changes in design for skating boards everywhere.
The longboard has held its own with the growing popularity of skateboarding, and today has carved out its own niche of fans throughout the world. It was not as easy to do tricks off of and took a lot more effort to successfully Ollie on but the longboard has become an icon in skateboarding for its sleek design and the easy maneuverability that comes along with it.
The kick tail trend design met the longboard and the union formed was one of the most identifiable longboard we see today. The kicktail longboard has since become renowned for its maneuverability and design. The kick tail design allows the person to maintain more control over their board, and the kick tail lip allows one to pop up on it much easier, and perform an Ollie. These make it easier to actually attempt jump on a longboard, and also provide easier control making turning and footing on the kicktail longboard much easier than its flatter counterpart.
The kicktail longboard has since been noted for its ease in traveling long distances. While any skateboard can be used for long distances and traveling, the longboard deck is partial to this sort of travel. After mastering the break and slide techniques that are trademarks of movement with the kick tail longboard, you will be ready to use it for any practical use, like getting to the bar or to work, and for a fun or leisurely activity.
kick tail longboards have also served to become one of the more dominant boards used in land paddling, which is much like rowing a boat except you use these paddle to propel you and the board forward. This method has become quite prevalent and makes traveling long distances easier than ever.
Kick tails in general have changed the face of skateboarding, and transformed the niche of longboard riders into something much more than they were to begin with. They are now easier to maneuver, more comfortable to ride, and overall a more pleasant experience than one could have dreamed they would grow into. With various forms of kicktail longboards out there, and the many varieties of ways people ride them, such as skogging, paddle riding, long distance riding, etc. We can only wait and see what the future has to bring for longboard fans.
